Four Aspects of Self There are many teachings available in our world which we have had the privilege to inherit from those who have lived before us. A common theme in many of these is to know thy self. In this case seeing as there are four aspects of self defined here this could be referred to as "Know Thy Selves". The four aspects of self as described here is intended to provide a general framing. This general framing is expanded upon once an individuals Sun sign, their birth sign, is known and layered over the model. In addition to the Sun sign the alignments of the planets and their aspects is also layered over the model creating a blueprint or road map which expands upon the experience an individual has chosen in this life time. The four aspects of self are 1 Temporal Self, 2 Inspired Self, 3 Relationship Self, and 4 Social Self. In order to get beyond the naming of these aspects and to service as a more definitive meaning these four selves are each expanded upon. Use the left side menu bar to view each individual description. Also as an aid in being clear as to what these four aspects of self are about a description as to how the four self aspect concept was formulated is provided. The four aspects of self are founded from a basic and simplistic look at astrological models. Take a circle, which can represent an astrological chart. Draw a line horizontally through the center. This line can be considered the horizon. Everything above the line is the outer self and everything below the line is the inner self. Now using the same circle draw a line through center this time vertically. Everything to the left of the line can be considered collective and everything to the right personal. Placing both vertical and horizontal lines on the circle at the same time creates four quadrants. These quadrants can be defined as:
To assist in communicating and sharing these four aspects the names temporal inspired relationship and social are applied. Originally introduced in Pathfinder Report July 2007 |
