Hiking Trails in Durham Ontario Canada

Lynde Shores Conservation Area

The Lynde Shores Conservation Area is located south of Victoria Street (highway 22) between Lakeridge Road and Brock Street in south Whitby. There is a boardwalk which extends out into Lynde Creek Marsh. The conservation area includes Cranberry Marsh, which has 4 designated lookouts. There is a bird feeder trail which is home to many nature creatures who have become accustomed to nurturing people. I have seen deer here several times, large snapping turtles, and many birds, large and small. Swans, ducks and geese are also common. There is a pay parking lot, one dollar minimum, and washrooms.
